Change of Heart

As rain lashed against the window of the pub and the log fire started the thankless task of drying out my sodden clothes, I realised that I had been clinging to a past out of fear and habit. 3 hours on the Southwold beach, in the rain, in the wind it was a kind of renewal, a transformation. Clich├ęs like being washed clean, baptised, born anew…but thats how it felt at the time, whilst listening to the fire and watching the bubbles slowly rise in my glass.

Years later I leant about Pathetic Fallacy whilst filming in an English Lit GCSE class, I really should have listened more at school, and paid more attention. I was often looking out the window back then too.
