Change of Heart

As rain lashed against the window of the pub and the log fire started the thankless task of drying out my sodden clothes, I realised that I had been clinging to a past out of fear and habit. 3 hours on the Southwold beach, in the rain, in the wind it was a kind of renewal, a transformation. Clichés like being washed clean, baptised, born anew…but thats how it felt at the time, whilst listening to the fire and watching the bubbles slowly rise in my glass.

Years later I leant about Pathetic Fallacy whilst filming in an English Lit GCSE class, I really should have listened more at school, and paid more attention. I was often looking out the window back then too.
