Sunset Wallpaper

I had a few requests recently for a sunset photo of Southsea I posted over at Forever Circling to be posted up big enough for people to use as wallpaper on their computers. I’ve uploaded a 1600px wide version so feel free to download it and resize it for use as a wallpaper on your [...]

Colour Snow

As well as the roll of B&W film I shot and developed back when the snow first fell I also took a couple of rolls of colour too which I just got back from the lab. Despite being primarily black and white themselves the little dashes and tones of colour add that something extra. This [...]

Between the Snowflakes

I’m sure everyone in the UK has enjoyed the snow over the last week (unless they were stranded in their car overnight). On Wednesday, when the falling snow was heaviest, I braved the cold and walked down to the seafront and then to the pier and the skatepark to explore the familiar, heavily changed by [...]

Compulsive Sunset Shoot

I’ve been working closely with Compulsive Productions this year on various photography projects and the other day I went down to Southsea seafront with Dan to shoot some photos for their new business cards. We got lucky with an amazing sunset, although it didn’t hang around for long, as it does this late in the [...]

5am Beachlife

After a long night’s drinking a friend and I decided to stay up and cycle to the beach to catch the sunrise. As the sun peaked over the easterly clouds the colours were amazing, the streets and beach empty and the sea surprisingly warm. Plus we saw a fox down at the water’s edge too, [...]

First Film

I got the first roll of film I shot with the Nikon back, really pleased. I picked up some expired film in a little newsagents (my top tip of the day, by the way) and went for some beach walks in Eastney and Southsea yesterday and the camera and lens are nice to use and [...]

Snowy Beach

it snowed last night so this morning I went for a walk on the empty, snowy beach for a bit, taking some photos. You don’t often get snow settling in Southsea because the sea keeps the temperature a little higher so it’s unusual to see the beach covered in snow.

Love Life

If you’re in Southsea, Portsmouth or will be on the 11th December make sure to make it down to the Love Life graphic design pub quiz and charity fund raiser, it’s going to be good. I’ve donated a couple of Pacifica books to the prize fund and will be down there getting all the answers [...]

Fireworks Night

I had fun up on the hill overlooking the city earlier this week shooting B&W film of the fireworks display for Guy Fawkes night. I don’t often use my bulb trigger and tripod so I was looking forward to seeing how the 5 second or so exposures would turn out considering the light pollution and [...]

New Camera

I recently got a test roll of film back from the lab which I shot with a Halina 35X which I got off eBay for next to nothing. It’s a beautiful, little, heavy, fully manual camera that I’m looking forward to using more often. Here are some photos from that roll of film:
