Last Podcast of 2007

One last thing before the holiday kicks in, I've just posted this month's Quiet Corner's podcast. This podcast is a bit of a special one as it's a collection of music written and performed by skateboarders. LBD appears on the cover at Bicknacre mini ramp just to top it all off.

Check the podcast page for the mp3 download, iTunes subscribe link, artwork and tracklisting.

Have a good one!

Recent Trips, New Trips

I have updated the Oxygen, Coast & Habitation galleries with some photos shot with my Olympus Trip camera on recent visits to Malta, Gozo, Suffolk, London and...Bromley (of all places).

I will be away in Vancouver, San Francisco and Seattle for the next couple of weeks or so, so no updates for a while...although there should be a lot of photos to sort through on my return, fingers crossed.

Have a great Christmas and New Year!

Southwold

I visited Southwold in Suffolk this weekend which included a walk down on the beach. The wind was blowing and the sky and sea were constantly changing from a steel grey to a golden glow. Need to go back soon.

More photos to be added to Flickr and Curb Debris later.

Italy Panoramic

Remember that 35mm film format from a decade ago that was meant to be the next big thing and where you could have panoramic photos? Yeah. Anyway, I went to Italy with some friends for new year 99/00 and took some panoramic photos with one of those cameras. The village we stayed in was in the hills just outside Milan and had it's own castle, very beautiful, very rural. Most go back again soon.

Disposable Cameras

My friend Gorm gave me a heads up earlier on the Lance Mountain and Chet Childress Nike interviews up on the Kingpin website. A good read for sure but what I particularly found interesting was a photo of Chet using a disposable camera. Gorm and I did interviews with both these guys and as part of an article we were putting together we gave the team 6 disposable cameras. When we got the cameras back from the Nike team after they left the UK we used the photos in our Tweaker Zine article. We never saw who used the cameras (although were told later which were specifically used by Brian Anderson, Stefan Janowski, Lance Mountain and Chet Childress) so it's great to see a photo of them in actual use. The photo of Chet is by Sam Ashley.

The original idea of the use of disposable cameras in this situation came from a zine project some friends and I are in the middle of doing that has recently come back to life after a glitch in the International posting system. Fingers crossed I'll have more news on this project in the coming months.

Quiet Corners got a mention over at Click Clique yesterday. Those guys have some beautiful photos and great ideas (such as 3 hour zines, double exposure film swaps, etc), go give them a look...
