Suffolk, Cross-Processed
I’ve been sitting on a roll of E6 slide film since my Suffolk beach walking trip back in January because I couldn’t find a place local to cross-process it and my recent experiences with posting film off to places was that they were over priced and the results were poor. When I first got in to cross-processing film I was on friendly terms with the lab in the Colchester branch of Boots and they understood that running an E6 film through the C41 process wouldn’t cause any damage to either the film or the machine but since then most high street development places won’t touch it, and I understand that their lack of knowledge means they fear they’ll damage the (very expensive) developers. Yesterday I went in to the main Portsmouth branch of Boots and was lucky enough to stumble across someone in the lab who understood the process and was willing to process the film, without the added costs, postage time, expensive development, etc, just simple, one hour development for the same prices as a C41 film. Eureka. I’ll be buying some more E6 rolls right away and will be making the most of having this local service.
Here are a few prints from the roll, I’m saving the better ones for a project that’ll be using my favourite photos taken on that trip (in total I took almost 200 film photos in 3 days).
